  1. Culture affects laws. Culture shapes the way a society views things, hence leading to the laws that fit with the culture. Culture is usually established before law, so law is established with the culture already in mind.

  2. Laws affect culture because they control what culture can and can't do. For example, in communist countries their strict laws prevent their culture from branching out and changing. While in America, laws like freedom of speech and freedom of press allow for culture to diversify and change. -Billy Murray

  4. Law affects culture. This come from the fact that there are different countries and not just one united area as earth. Ever since the days where countries were forming, each had its own set of laws. People migrated to the areas of preference for laws and rules, and from that much time ago the culture shaped its way around those laws.

  5. Culture creates laws, which then reinforce that culture. Laws are based on a society's cultural norms, and morph and change as the culture itself morphs and changes. These laws then serve as a reflection of the society's culture and values.

  8. I believe that laws affect the culture of a country. Laws shape the way people act and if those laws are good and meaningful, then people will tend to obey them and respect them. If the laws are outrageous and unethical, people will then lash our and shape a bad society.

  14. By providing rules and regulations for what citizens can and cannot do, laws play a big part in defining the cultural expectations of a society. I think in theory, the laws created within a society reflect the needs and values of that society and will work for the best interests of the citizens, but laws can also strongly influence the society that created them. For example; the Brown v. Board of Education case of 1954 as proof that a law can change society, saying that without the school integration reforms during the Civil Rights Movement, schools would be very different today.
